As an attorney and partner at the civil practice McGinn, Carpenter, Montoya & Love, PC, found in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kathleen “Kathy” Love represents clients against healthcare providers and companies. Dedicated to helping those in her community, attorney Kathy Love is a founding board member of the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance.
A nonprofit environmental organization, the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance strives to protect, restore, and respect the wild areas found in this Southwestern state. It provides administrative and federal wilderness designations to ensure the protection of New Mexico’s wild lands.
The New Mexico Wilderness Alliance hosts events throughout the year for the public to help preserve the wild lands. One event, which occurred on September 12 and 13, 2015, was the Valles Caldera Fence Removal Project. Held in conjunction with the local Boy Scouts of America troops, the project helped protect public lands and taught volunteers about conservation ethics. The project focused on the Valles Caldera National Preserve located in the Jemez Mountains; volunteers removed fencing to increase access, decrease impact on wildlife, and celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary.
